A huge thanks to this beautiful family!!!

OK so the T family had enough confidence in me that they were officially my first "real" maternity session. Seriously, could I have gotten any luckier. The entire family was so fun, easy going...and heck even took direction when I KNOW they thought I had completely lost my mind! The children were absolutely adorable...heck the entire family is gorgeous...so I figure it would have been really hard to make them look bad!

Thank you all so much for allowing me to capture these wonderful memories. Can't wait to meet the little one! You have a beautiful family and I how lucky this guy is to be coming in to such a wonderful and loving family! I hope you enjoy your photos!

A New Year, a New Look!

Happy New Year everybody! Thanks for keeping up with the studio and the work we have done throughout 2008.

To help ring in the New Year right....Chasing Fireflies Photography will be getting a new look. A new logo, a new blog and so many new photos to check out! So keep your eyes open and I'd love to know what you think of the new look. We should be up and running by the end of January!

Also, in an effort to provide all of my clients with the best possible work, I will be attending a Photography Convention in Phoenix, Arizona on January 10th! I'm really excited and will be taking classes and working with some world class photographers! So I hope to come back with some great ideas for 2009!

Tis the Season for Giving

Chasing Fireflies Photography would like to wish a very Merry Christmas and the happiest of holidays to all.

Nothing makes me so happy as to see a smile or tears of joy on a persons face when I deliver to them the photographs from their session! And during this time of the year it makes me all the more happy.

Chasing Fireflies Photography believes that photographs are memories and moments in time which we will never get back. The way your baby looks at the world with a newness only infants know, the look on your one year-olds face as he discovers the wonderful workings of his feet knowing they will carry him to new adventures, the celebration of a lifetimes worth of love between a couple. These are the moments which seem like they will last forever, but we soon find they are gone in the blink of an eye.

These are the moments I love to capture and why I think this is the best job in the entire world. And so, in the spirit of the season I would like to give away a photosession and photo collection to a family who truly deserves this special, unique and wonderful gift.

Please help me give this gift by nominating a family who is financially unable to afford professional photography, a family who has recently been through a very difficult experience, a family who is experiencing some tough times or maybe a family who has a loved one serving over seas. Maybe you have other reasons for wanting to give this gift. Maybe YOU have been through some tough times and would like to give a special gift to a friend who has selflessly given to you!

**All families nominated must be within 30 minutes of the Trinidad or Raton areas. Nominations must be in by Thursday, January 1, 2009. The family will be chosen and notified by the end of January, 2009.**

The family who is chosen will receive a photosession (for immediate family members only) and the Roly Poly Collection. This is a $575 value absolutely free. The photosession must be scheduled and completed by July 1, 2009 and is non-transferrable. The person who nominates that family will receive $50.00 off of a photosession of their own.

A Christmas Carol in Raton America

You know looking back through some of these posts, our little town has done some pretty neat things. Too often we get caught up in all of the petty business of our community and forget to give thanks to the truly wonderful opportunties we all have here.

This is yet another example of a fun and unique experience it seems too many miss. Charles Dickenson's "A Christmas Carol" is showing at the historic Shuler Theatre this weekend and next. If you haven't had a chance to check it out, you should definitely make time.

The show lasts approximate 1 hour 45 minutes and for a family of 6 is cheaper than the movies (although I do recommend catching at show at the El Raton Theatre)!

They Better Have Driven the Speed Limit!

This was the VERY FIRST FAMILY I ever photographed and they came in for Holiday Photographs this morning.

Little Bug (the baby...don't worry his parents call him that!) is faster than a speeding bullet...and if not THAT fast I KNOW he's faster than the camera's shutter!!

A lot of smiles and a blast to take photos with...I promised them a sneak peek by the time they got home. So I WAS faster than a speeding bullet picking a favorite photo and editing it in time for their arrival home. SO....they better have not driven faster than the speed limit...or I'm in trouble!
